Unpopular opinion: whiter doesn’t always mean better. This patient came in with older composite veneers that were ultra bulky, overly opaque, stained, and an unnaturally bright white. They lacked texture, translucency, anatomy, and dimension, which made the smile look heavy, flat, and artificial. We redesigned his smile with a more customized treatment plan using a combination of near no-prep veneers, minimal-prep veneers, veneer onlays, and replacement of older posterior crowns and bridges to help open the bite and improve lower tooth display, which alone improves youthfulness! The goal was not just to make the teeth whiter. The goal was to make them look ALIVE! Because a beautiful smile is not just about brightness. It is about dimension, shape, texture, translucency, proportion, and function. And the truth is, smiles are not one size fits all. Age, gender, facial features, lip dynamics, style, personality, and overall harmony all play a role in what makes a smile look beautiful and believable on each individual person. Teeth that are too white, too flat, and too one dimensional can start to look artificial very quickly. This is the difference between simply making teeth white… and actually designing a smile. what’s in my bag… dentist edition your routine doesn’t have to be complicated, just consistent. Just a fun little way to show you that your oral hygiene can even fit in a small purse 😉 coco floss (confetti) – this is one of my favorites because it expands as you use it, which helps remove more plaque and debris between the teeth compared to flat floss. plus… the flavor makes flossing way less boring flaus electric flosser – perfect for getting that extra buildup out and amazing for anyone who struggles with traditional floss or has limited dexterity. makes flossing easier = more consistent habits electric toothbrush – soft bristles are key. brush at a 45° angle toward the gumline, 2x a day for 2 minutes to properly remove plaque and protect your gums. bonus: this one holds a charge forever tongue scraper – this is the most underrated step. a lot of bacteria that causes bad breath sits on your tongue, so cleaning it daily makes a huge difference + lip products – because hydrated lips are part of oral care… at least that’s what I tell myself

She told me she avoided smiling for years.

No tooth display, an open bite, and a lot of lost confidence.

Seeing her smile again after treatment was everything. She said she couldn’t wait to finally smile without thinking about it.

She said she couldn’t wait to finally smile without thinking about it. It’s never too late to feel confident about your smile and improve your quality of life. Some of my favorite cases are helping those who always put others first and are finally ready to put themselves first. I actually completed this case about a year ago, before I really got into dental photography, but the transformation still means so much to me 🤍 Dr. Crystal Barekzai 🤍 #smilemakeover #prosthodontics #veneers #dentist
Full mouth rehabilitation is not just about choosing the most aesthetic ceramic. Sometimes it is about choosing what will truly change someone’s life.

Full mouth rehabilitation is not just about choosing the most aesthetic ceramic. Sometimes it is about choosing what will truly change someone’s life. This patient came in with severe clenching and grinding, advanced wear, and a collapsed bite, but also lacking confidence and feeling embarrassed by his smile. After discussing his goals together, he chose to close the diastema and move forward with a full reconstruction that prioritized function and long term stability. We opened his vertical dimension, stabilized his joint, and rebuilt his smile with durability and longevity in mind. Because of his parafunctional habits, zirconia was chosen intentionally to support long term success. These after photos were taken months later after a professional cleaning, and the improvement in tissue health and his home care speaks for itself. The before photos were taken without my professional camera (don’t mind the quality). Cases like this remind me why I love this profession so much. I am deeply grateful to have a career that allows me to change people’s lives, not only through their oral health, but through their confidence as well. Keep swiping to see that handsome smile🤍 #fullmouthrehabilitation #dentistry #smilemakeover #veneers #lifechanging
If you’re only using Red Light Therapy for your skin, you’re missing half the benefits. As a dentist, I’m calling it now: Oral Photobiomodulation is the biggest wellness shift of 2026. It’s not just about “teeth.” It’s about the Mitochondria in your gums. Red and near-infrared light (660nm–850nm) triggers ATP production, which is essentially “cellular fuel.” The result? ✨ Faster healing after the dentist. ✨ Reduced gum inflammation (the secret to a youthful smile). ✨ A balanced oral microbiome (the gatekeeper to your gut health). Don’t gatekeep this! it’s time we treat our mouths with the same tech we use for our faces. Send this to all your red light/ wellness obsessed friends :) 1. Microbiome Connection: A 2025 study in Frontiers in Medicine explored the “Oral-Gut Microbiome Axis,” showing that PBM in the mouth can actually alter microbial composition to benefit whole-body health. 2. Cellular Energy: Clinical reviews in Lasers in Dental Science (2025) confirm that PBM (at wavelengths of 600–1000nm) stimulates mitochondrial activity and ATP synthesis, which is the gold standard for tissue regeneration. 3. Periodontal Health: The LumosKaunas Study (2024/2025) demonstrated that light-activated therapy significantly reduced inflammation and improved gum healing rates (54% vs 22% in control groups). #biohacking #wellness #holistichealth #oralhealth #dental

Are you team natural or bold? 2026 is officially the end of obvious veneers. Natural layering. Soft translucency. Faces that still look like you. The goal isn’t to look “done.” It’s to look elevated. This is the new era of cosmetic dentistry. #dental #smilemakeover #2026trends #cosmeticdentistry #veneers
